The Great White Throne Judgment — Revelation 20:11-15

John sees a great white throne, and the dead — great and small — standing before God as the books are opened, including 'the book of life.' Each person is judged according to what they had done, and death and Hades themselves are thrown into the lake of fire. This is the Bible's final courtroom scene, the sober end-times counterpart to its promises of heaven, hinging on whose name is written in the book of life.
11Then I saw a great white throne and the One seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from His presence, and no place was found for them.
12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne. And books were opened, and one of them was the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their deeds, as recorded in the books.
13The sea gave up its dead, and Death and Hades gave up their dead, and each one was judged according to his deeds.
14Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death—the lake of fire.
15And if anyone was found whose name was not written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
