'Lord, I Believe; Help My Unbelief' (Mark 9:21-24)

'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief' comes from Mark 9:21-24, cried out by a desperate father begging Jesus to heal his son. His raw, honest prayer holds both faith and doubt in the same breath, and Jesus honors it by healing the boy. It gives words to anyone who believes and struggles to believe at the same time, showing that Jesus works with the faith we have, not the faith we wish we had.
21Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has this been with him?” “From childhood,” he said.
22“It often throws him into the fire or into the water, trying to kill him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”
23“If You can?” echoed Jesus. “All things are possible to him who believes!”
24Immediately the boy’s father cried out, “I do believe; help my unbelief!”
