"Do Not Let Your Hearts Be Troubled" — In My Father's House (John 14:1-6)
John 14:1-6 · Berean Standard Bible
On the night before his death, Jesus comforts his frightened followers: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms... I am going there to prepare a place for you." These words, read at countless funerals, answer the ache of separation with a promise of reunion in a place already being prepared. For anyone grieving a loved one, it points past the grave to a home Jesus is keeping ready.
1“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe in Me as well.
2In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into My presence, so that you also may be where I am.
4You know the way to the place where I am going.”
5“Lord,” said Thomas, “we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?”
6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
