Saved by Grace Through Faith — Ephesians 2:8-10

'For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.' Paul draws the sharpest line in the Bible between grace and earning: salvation is a gift, received, never a wage worked for. Yet it does not end there — we are 'God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,' the fruit of salvation rather than its price.
8For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9not by works, so that no one can boast.
10For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.
