Bible Verses About Forgiving Yourself
Micah 7:18-19 · Berean Standard Bible
Micah 7:18-19 paints a vivid picture of how completely God deals with sin: he delights to show mercy, treads our sins underfoot, and hurls all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. Many people who struggle to forgive themselves find these verses freeing, because they show God has already put confessed sin somewhere it cannot be retrieved. Releasing yourself starts with trusting how thoroughly he has released you.
18Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance—who does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in loving devotion?
19He will again have compassion on us; He will vanquish our iniquities. You will cast out all our sins into the depths of the sea.
