Children Obey, Fathers Don't Provoke (Ephesians 6:1-4)

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother." Paul quotes the commandment and its promise, then turns to parents: "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." Ephesians 6:1-4 speaks to both sides of the parent-child relationship — obedience and gentle, God-centered discipline.
1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2“Honor your father and mother” (which is the first commandment with a promise),
3“that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life on the earth.”
4Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
