A Woman Who Didn't Need a Husband
Christine Caine was fully committed to singleness. Not reluctantly — passionately. She believed she could accomplish more for the gospel alone. Ministry was her love. Jesus was her partner.
When Nick Caine proposed, she was genuinely shocked. Not because she didn't care for him, but because she hadn't planned for this. Marriage wasn't in her strategy.
A Prayer and a Scripture
Wrestling with the decision, Christine went to God with a blunt prayer: "If I'm going to go further with this guy, I have to know that I'm going to do more for your kingdom married than I am single."
God answered through Deuteronomy 32:30 — "One will put a thousand to flight, two will put ten thousand to flight." The math was unmistakable. Together, their kingdom impact would multiply tenfold.
Christine said yes. They married in 1996.
What Followed
Together, the Caines founded the A21 Campaign, which has rescued thousands from human trafficking across twelve countries. They also lead Propel Women, equipping female leaders worldwide. The kingdom multiplication that Scripture promised has been playing out for nearly three decades.
What This Means for You
Not everyone who's single is waiting for a spouse. Some are thriving. Christine's story is for the person who genuinely wonders: would marriage advance or hinder what God has called me to?
The answer isn't always the same. But when you ask honestly, God answers clearly — sometimes through a single verse that settles everything.
