Conservative Without Christ
I grew up with parents who identified as Orthodox, but I didn't spend much time in church as a kid. Before my conversion, I was creating social media content with conservative themes—but I lacked Christian conviction.
During COVID-19 lockdowns, I spent considerable time on social media platforms. That's when I became aware of how perilous and damning conservatism is without Christ. I recognized that my conservative principles lacked spiritual foundation.
The Burning Scrutiny of God's Holiness
I kept encountering impassioned Christian teens on TikTok who were talking about Jesus. Something in me started to shift.
Then it happened. Suddenly my entire life—and the internal world of my thoughts and desires—were placed under the burning scrutiny of God's holiness.
I was convicted. These Christian content creators on TikTok encouraged me to actually pick up a Bible and read it for myself.
Reading the Gospel of John
Reading the Gospel of John marked my decisive conversion. For the first time, I understood: I was in desperate trouble. I needed a Saviour.
This app was used to save me. I see it as an avenue that God used to bring me to his Son—like contemporary street-preaching.
A New Purpose
I want to be a spokesperson for Christianity in my generation, because Christianity has something to say about the world today.
I enrolled at Tyndale University to study philosophy so I could engage culture in a way that is winsome and biblical. Christians should be emboldened by their faith in the Saviour Jesus.
I graduated in May 2025 and plan to apply to law school focusing on constitutional law. But above all, my priority is advancing and participating in the kingdom of God.
