Four Years of Growth
A woman's doctor is surprised when her long-standing, thyroid tumor shrinks significantly after she received prayer.
A woman had a growth on her thyroid that had been growing for four years. When she went to the doctor to have it checked, it had grown a significant amount. The doctor wanted to do a biopsy, but she wanted to wait until her husband could be there with her.
Prayer at the Conference
A little over a week later, she and her husband went to Redding, CA to attend a Bethel conference. At the conference while Pastor Bill was preaching, he paused saying that they should all pray for people who had growths or tumors in or on their bodies. The lady next to her prayed for her thyroid.
The Doctor's Surprise
Sometime after, her husband took her back to the doctor and she just knew that she would have a testimony. As the doctor did the ultrasound, he stopped on that same spot and began typing into the computer. She was disappointed at first because she could tell that he was seeing something in there, but she quickly reminded herself that the growth had to have changed. She lay there on the table, silently praying that the Lord would just shrink it right there.
In a few seconds, the doctor said, "That is odd. This is just so odd. I need to compare something." He looked at her charts and said, "Well, it changed. It has shrunk—significantly. This is just so odd. These kinds of growths never shrink this much, and especially not this quickly." He said that it was now so small that it was really insignificant.
Sharing the Good News
She asked the doctor, "Well, can I tell you what happened?" He looked puzzled. She began to tell him about the church service and how they prayed. She told him some of the testimonies that happened while they were there. He smiled and shook his head. He said, "Well, what can I say?" She left the office jumping up and down, so excited! She said she had never been so happy to pay a medical bill in her life!
