Bible Verses for Sleep
Psalms 4:6-8 · Berean Standard Bible
David wrote Psalm 4 in a season of distress, yet it ends with one of the most restful lines in Scripture: in peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. These verses have been prayed at bedtime for thousands of years. They connect sleep to trust, letting the God who stays awake carry what you cannot resolve tonight.
6Many ask, “Who can show us the good?” Shine the light of Your face upon us, O LORD.
7You have filled my heart with more joy than when grain and new wine abound.
8I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
