Doxa is where Christians record what God has said and done, and return to remember it.

These are accounts of mental and emotional healing: depression, anxiety, trauma, grief that had stopped moving, and despair that had reached the point of planning. They are recorded alongside, rather than instead of, the medical and therapeutic care many of these people were also receiving.

This collection is handled with more care than most, because the subject deserves it. Nothing here suggests that faith replaces treatment, and several accounts explicitly describe medication, therapy and a church community working at the same time. Where someone stopped treatment, the record says so plainly rather than presenting it as the lesson.

The accounts that readers return to most are rarely the sudden ones. They are the accounts of people who describe a year or two of slow return, where the first sign was the ability to get up, well before any return of joy. That pattern appears often enough across centuries and cultures to be worth reading as a pattern.

What do Christians say about depression and faith?

The accounts here consistently reject the idea that depression indicates weak faith. Many of the people recorded are pastors, missionaries and long-standing believers. What they describe instead is God present inside the illness rather than only on the far side of it, and recovery that came through ordinary means, including treatment, community and time, as often as through anything sudden. Scripture itself carries a good deal of this territory, particularly the Psalms and the book of Job.
