Peace I Leave With You (John 14:25-27)

Jesus gives his followers a farewell gift that answers anxiety directly: 'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.' This is not the fragile calm the world offers but a settled peace rooted in the Holy Spirit, whom he promises in the same passage. He closes with the command that flows from it, 'Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.'
25All this I have spoken to you while I am still with you.
26But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.
27Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.
