Heidi Baker's Call to Mozambique
In 1995, Heidi and Rolland Baker arrived in Mozambique, a nation grappling with poverty and despair, answering a call to serve its abandoned street children. Starting with a government orphanage near Maputo, they faced eviction and financial hardship, yet they persisted in faith. Heidi recounts a vision where Jesus, surrounded by children, assured her, "I died that there would always be enough." Despite losing initial support, their ministry, Iris Global, expanded remarkably, reaching thousands. Today, they feed over 10,000 children daily and have established Bible schools, clinics, and churches across Mozambique.
Miraculous Healing Ministry Unfolds
Amidst the challenges, Heidi experienced miraculous encounters. In 1996, she received a prophecy that she would see the blind and deaf healed. This came to pass as reports of healings and even food multiplication emerged. In her words, "The challenges were so incredible... yet we just focused our eyes on Jesus." Despite severe dyslexia as a child, which gave her the worst SAT scores in California, she testifies, "God healed my brain. The Lord anointed my brain."
Transformative Power of Faith
Through adversity, the Bakers have leaned on radical love and trust in God, serving the poorest with unwavering joy. Heidi's journey is a testament to the transformative power of faith, where miracles and love work hand in hand to bring hope to those in need.
