The Lord Bless You and Keep You (The Aaronic Blessing)

Numbers 6:22-27 · Berean Standard Bible

The Lord gave these words to Moses for Aaron and the priests to bless the people of Israel. The blessing asks that the Lord keep you, make his face shine on you, be gracious to you, and give you peace. God adds that when the priests put his name on the Israelites in this way, he himself will bless them. It remains one of the most loved benedictions in the Bible, spoken over congregations, children, and new seasons of life.

22Then the LORD said to Moses,

23“Tell Aaron and his sons: This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:

24‘May the LORD bless you and keep you;

25may the LORD cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;

26may the LORD lift up His countenance toward you and give you peace.’

27So they shall put My name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
