A Vision for Africa
Reinhard Bonnke, a man with a fervent vision, proclaimed with unwavering conviction, 'Africa shall be saved.' Born in Germany into a Pentecostal family, he felt a profound calling to Africa from a young age. This calling was fueled by a vision he experienced, where he saw the map of Africa being washed in the blood of Jesus, symbolizing salvation sweeping across the continent.
Christ for All Nations
In 1974, Bonnke founded Christ for All Nations (CfaN) to actualize this vision. His crusades became renowned for their vast gatherings and profound impact. One significant event occurred in November 1984 in Blantyre, Malawi. Despite facing political resistance, Bonnke's crusade drew large crowds, and many attendees reported experiencing personal transformations. This was a testament to his perseverance and faith in God's mission for him.
Crusades That Changed Nations
The year 2000 marked a pinnacle in Bonnke's ministry with a crusade in Lagos, Nigeria. This event was one of the largest recorded gatherings in Christian history, where 1.6 million people attended the final meeting. God's presence was palpable, and many lives were reportedly changed as attendees embraced faith.
A Lasting Legacy
Throughout his ministry, Bonnke emphasized that 'The gospel is the power of God unto salvation,' attributing the miraculous changes and conversions to Jesus. His dedication to spreading the message of Jesus across Africa left a lasting legacy, saving millions and igniting a wave of faith that echoed throughout the continent.
