Abu Radwan fled Homs when the city was being torn apart. He had lost the life he knew, and like so many Syrians he ended up a refugee, carrying almost nothing. What he did not expect to carry out of the war was a new faith.
Jesus came to him in a dream. Not as a distant idea, but as Someone arriving on purpose. "I believed that Jesus was coming to help us, to save us," Radwan said. "I started going to the church."
Saved out of the rubble He was baptised in Beirut by Bishop George Saliba. The Muslim man from Homs came up out of the water a follower of Jesus. It cost him. On his way home from church, men from his own tribe attacked and stabbed him. His wife still wears a hijab outside of church, for safety. Following Jesus in that world is not free.
And still he follows. Across the wreckage of the Syrian war, Jesus has been walking into the dreams of frightened, exhausted people and telling them He came to save. Abu Radwan is one of them, a man who lost a city and found a Saviour.
If He would cross a war to reach one refugee, He will cross whatever stands between you and Him.
