Success Without Satisfaction
In the bustling town of Quilmes, near Buenos Aires, Argentina, Carlos Annacondia was thriving in the business world. However, beneath the surface of his successful nuts and bolts factory, he was a man plagued by fear and dissatisfaction. Despite his wealth, Carlos was tormented by fears of the future, the safety of his children, and the potential loss of his possessions. He admitted, 'Carlos, you're so worried about life – for your children's future, for your businesses – you are unhappy.'
A Voice Promises Freedom
In 1979, at the age of 35, Carlos and his wife, Maria, attended a meeting led by a Panamanian preacher. Carlos went out of respect for his family's church, not expecting a life-changing encounter. Yet, during the meeting, he heard a voice urging him to surrender his heart to Jesus, promising a life free from fear.
Carlos recalled, 'Carlos, you have fear of life, fear of death, fear of losing your possessions, fear for your children. Give me your heart and I will keep your house, your children, your possessions, do not worry.' At that moment, Carlos, who believed that 'men do not cry,' found himself in tears. On March 19, 1979, he and Maria accepted Jesus as their Savior, marking the beginning of a new life.
Baptized in the Holy Spirit
The transformation was immediate and profound. Carlos was filled with happiness and a sense of purpose. He discarded alcohol and cigarettes, stating, 'I didn't need those crutches anymore: Jesus had reached my heart.' Ten days later, he experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit, feeling a warmth and an uncontrollable fire that led him to speak languages he had never known. This encounter filled him with compassion and a burning desire for others to know Jesus.
Revival Sweeps Argentina
By 1984, Carlos had founded the 'Message of Salvation' ministry, holding large crusades where many experienced healing and freedom from demonic oppression. His ministry sparked a significant revival in Argentina, characterized by supernatural healings and deliverance. Carlos boldly confronted evil with the phrase, 'Listen to me, Satan!' and saw countless lives transformed as he prayed for those with illnesses.
