In the early 1900s, John G. Lake established a healing ministry in Spokane, Washington that became legendary. For years, teams of believers prayed for the sick in dedicated rooms, and documented healings occurred so regularly that Spokane was once called the healthiest city in America by the US government. When Lake died, the rooms eventually closed.
Reopening What God Had Started
In 1999, Cal Pierce felt led by the Holy Spirit to reopen those rooms. Not as a museum. Not as a memorial. As an active ministry where ordinary believers would pray for the sick and the Holy Spirit would heal.
Pierce had no denominational backing, no significant funding, and no guarantee it would work. He had a conviction and a willingness to show up.
The rooms reopened. And the Holy Spirit showed up with them.
Twenty-Five Years of Documented Healings
Since 1999, thousands of people have walked into the Healing Rooms of Spokane for prayer. The testimonies are collected, documented, and verified where possible: cancers gone after prayer. Chronic pain that vanished. Hearing restored. Mobility returned to limbs that had been immobile for years.
The model is simple. Trained teams of believers — not faith healers, not celebrity speakers, just people who believe the Holy Spirit heals — pray over individuals who come seeking help. There is no charge. There is no performance. There is only prayer and the presence of the Holy Spirit.
A Movement That Spread
What started in one building in Spokane has become an international movement. Over three thousand Healing Rooms now operate worldwide — from the United States to Africa, from Europe to Asia. Each one follows the same model: trained teams, prayer, and trust that the Holy Spirit will do what He promised.
Pierce is the first to say that the healings are not because of a location or a method. They are because the Holy Spirit is faithful. The rooms are just a place where people can come and receive what God has always been willing to give.
The Holy Spirit Has a Place for You
If you need healing — physical, emotional, spiritual — you do not have to wait for a famous evangelist or a massive conference. The Holy Spirit meets people in quiet rooms through the prayers of ordinary believers. That is what the Healing Rooms have proved for over twenty-five years.
The door is open. It has always been open.
