Chandra lived in a rural village in Sri Lanka's North Central Province, and she was slowly falling apart. Pain, weakness, a heart that raced for no reason doctors could name. She and her family were Hindu, so they did what they knew to do. They went to priest after priest. Thirty-five of them. Nothing changed.
In July 2021 they walked into a church instead. As people prayed for her, Chandra saw something. Demons were trying to strangle her, and then Jesus Christ stepped in and stamped on them. She felt the pain and the sickness drain out of her body as they were defeated. In the vision Jesus spoke Scripture over her, from Psalm 34. "They looked to Him and were radiant," He said, and told her she would be radiant too if she trusted Him.
The prayer a father prayed Her husband Dinesh, a day labourer, watched his wife come back to life and made God a promise. "God, if you will heal my wife, I will dedicate my daughter for your service." The whole family, who had barely heard the name of Jesus, gave their lives to Him. Their daughter Tenusha told her class what had happened, that her mother was free and that Jesus forgives sinners and makes them new.
They did not keep it to themselves. A house church started in their home with four people. By now it is forty-six.
Jesus is still stronger than whatever is choking the life out of you. He steps in, He stamps it down, and He calls you radiant.
