Brooklyn Hospital COVID Crisis
Tracey-Ann Knight, a dedicated nurse manager at Brooklyn Hospital, found herself at the heart of chaos when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Initially, she believed the crisis was something others would handle. But as the gravity of the situation became undeniable, she sought strength and wisdom from God to guide her through the tumultuous times. Managing a newly established 40-bed COVID-19 unit while overseeing a 32-bed medical-surgical unit, Tracey-Ann faced relentless challenges and heartbreak.
Witnessing Miraculous COVID Recovery
In the midst of witnessing numerous deaths, she also saw miraculous recoveries. One particular instance stood out: a middle-aged Asian man who defied the odds and was discharged after recovering from the virus. "As with our Asian patient, I am not surprised by God's work in people's lives because He is awesome and mighty! During COVID-19 moments, I can testify to God's power and grace," Tracey-Ann shared. These experiences reinforced her faith and provided her with opportunities to encourage others to trust in God.
ICU Nurse Trusts God
Idara Joy Inokon, another ICU nurse in Brooklyn, also faced the immense pressure of the pandemic. Despite the stress and anxiety, she continued to show up, trusting God with each step. She recounted praying for a patient, asking God to heal her, and found that her deepening relationship with God was what sustained her. "God is with you; you will not drown," she believed, feeling anchored by her faith.
