Imprisoned for Faith in China
In the late 1970s, amidst the backdrop of intense government scrutiny, Brother Yun found himself trapped in a small cell in Zhengzhou, China. As a leader within the burgeoning Chinese house church movement, Yun had been spreading the message of Jesus Christ with fervor, which led to his arrest and harsh treatment. The authorities sought to break his spirit, but Yun's faith was rooted in something far greater than his circumstances. Through solitary confinement and torture, he clung to the words of Scripture, even when he had no physical Bible in his possession. 'The Word of God came alive in me,' Yun recalls. 'In the darkest moments, Jesus was my light.'
Jesus Present During Persecution
Despite the physical and emotional agony, Yun experienced an unexplainable peace and strength that could only be attributed to Jesus. One night, as Yun lay praying on the cold prison floor, he felt an overwhelming presence of God's love. 'It was as if Jesus was there with me, whispering, "I will never leave you nor forsake you,"' Yun shared. This divine encounter not only sustained him but also inspired him to share the Gospel with fellow prisoners. Many hearts were touched, and even some guards were moved by the unwavering faith Yun displayed.
Miraculous Prison Escape Testimony
After years of imprisonment, Brother Yun miraculously escaped from Zhengzhou prison in 1997, an event he describes as nothing short of divine intervention. 'The Lord opened the gates for me,' he testified, as he walked out unnoticed by guards. His story of perseverance and faith under persecution has ignited a fire of belief in countless others around the world. Through his trials, Brother Yun's life is a testament to the power and presence of Jesus, who turned his suffering into a beacon of hope and transformation.
