A Terminal Brain Aneurysm Diagnosis
In April 2011, Floribeth Mora Diaz from Dulce Nombre de Cartago, Costa Rica, received a devastating diagnosis: an inoperable brain aneurysm gave her just one month to live. Plagued by severe headaches and paralysis on her left side, she was confined to bed, desperate for hope. On May 1, 2011, as she watched the beatification of Pope John Paul II on television, she experienced a profound moment. That night, she heard a voice, which she believed to be that of John Paul II, urging her, "Rise! Don't be afraid." She felt an immediate sense of peace and certainty that she was healed.
Miraculous Healing Brain Aneurysm Disappears
Floribeth's health rapidly improved. The paralysis faded, and to the astonishment of her doctors, subsequent medical tests confirmed the aneurysm had vanished without medical explanation. As she later shared, "The Lord took away my fear and agony and gave me the peace and certainty that I was healthy." Her physician, Dr. Alejandro Vargas, and other medical professionals were unable to find any scientific explanation for her sudden recovery.
Vatican Recognizes Official Miracle
In recognition of this inexplicable healing, the Vatican declared it a miracle in July 2013. Floribeth's testimony became pivotal in the canonization of John Paul II. On April 27, 2014, she attended the canonization ceremony, a testament to her restored health and renewed purpose. Floribeth continues to share her story, attributing her recovery to divine intervention through the intercession of John Paul II. She remains a symbol of faith and hope, showing the world that through Jesus, miraculous transformations can occur.
