FARC Commander's Armed Struggle

In the rugged mountains of Colombia, where the echo of conflict often overshadows the whispers of peace, a remarkable transformation is taking place among members of the FARC guerrilla. Jerónimo Guerra, once a fierce commander known for his staunch opposition to Christianity, now stands as a testament to the profound change that faith in Jesus can bring.

Former Guerrilla Finds Jesus

Jerónimo had spent years entrenched in the guerrilla movement, convinced that only through armed struggle could Colombia find its way forward. His encounters with pastors doing social work frustrated him, believing only the guerrillas truly helped the country. Yet, God had other plans for him. Through the persistent love and forgiveness of a Pentecostal mother who had lost her son to the conflict, Jerónimo encountered the message of Jesus. Her embrace and forgiveness opened his heart to a new path.

Now, instead of leading attacks, Jerónimo preaches the message of peace and reconciliation to his former comrades. He affirms that Colombia's destiny rests in the hands of Jesus Christ, a profound shift from his previous beliefs.

Drug Dealer Transformed by Faith

Similarly, Reina, a former member of illegal armed groups, found her life transformed by Jesus. She had been involved in the drug trade and violence but now boldly preaches the gospel, despite facing threats. Her faith is unwavering, as she proclaims, 'From the moment I received the Lord, I said if I served the devil with so much love, with how much more love will I serve the one who gave me life.' Her courage and commitment to Christ are a beacon of hope in a land yearning for peace.

Colombia's Christian Transformation Movement

These stories are not isolated. Missionary Russell Martin Stendal, once a hostage of the FARC, has dedicated his life to spreading the Christian message among them. Through his ministry, 'Colombia for Christ,' many guerrillas have come to know Jesus, choosing paths of peace over violence. Jesus is healing hearts and changing lives, even in the most unlikely of places.

Through these transformations, Jesus is bringing light into the darkness, showing that no heart is too hard for His love.
