Born Without Limits
Nick Vujicic was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1982 with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare condition that left him without arms and legs. Facing intense challenges from an early age, Nick grappled with feelings of depression and loneliness. At just ten years old, he thought about ending his life, overwhelmed by the belief that he was a burden to his family. Yet, in a pivotal moment, he chose life, realizing that his absence would bring greater pain to his loved ones.
A Turning Point
As Nick grew, he sought purpose and strength through his faith in God. At age 13, he experienced a turning point when an injury to his foot made him reflect on the blessings he still had. He decided to be thankful, rather than angry, for what he had been given. Nick shared, "I realized I gotta be thankful for what I have instead of being angry for what I don't have."
God's Hands and Feet
Nick's faith became the cornerstone of his life, giving him the courage to embrace his unique journey. He discovered that his trials could reveal God's work and inspire others. "God is using me, a man without arms and legs, to be his hands and feet," he said. In 2005, he moved to Southern California and founded NickV Ministries, now known as Attitude is Altitude, to spread his message of hope and purpose.
A Life Transformed
Nick's life transformed dramatically. Now a motivational speaker, evangelist, author, and founder of the non-profit organization Life Without Limbs, he travels the world sharing his story. Despite his physical limitations, Nick learned how to drive, surf, and even beat a drum. He married Kanae Miyahara in 2012, and together they have built a life that challenges the notion of impossibility.
Today, Nick Vujicic continues to inspire millions, reminding them that "Yes Lord I may not have this, yes Lord I may not have that, but I thank you for what you've given me and by your grace and strength I will do all that you want me to do." His life is a testament to the power of faith and the limitless potential within us all.
