A Faith That Wouldn't Hide
Rachel Joy Scott, born on August 5, 1981, in Denver, Colorado, grew up in a family deeply rooted in Christian faith. As a vibrant and compassionate student at Columbine High School, Rachel was known for her involvement in drama and her work at a local Subway shop.
Standing Firm
Despite facing mockery for her beliefs, she remained unwavering in her commitment to Jesus. Rachel's journals reveal a young woman determined to live her faith openly, even declaring, 'I am not going to apologize for speaking the name of Jesus… If I have to sacrifice everything… I will.'
A Legacy That Lives On
Tragically, on April 20, 1999, Rachel became the first victim of the Columbine High School massacre. Sitting with her friend Richard Castaldo outside the school, she was fatally shot. Yet, her legacy did not end there. Rachel's writings and her bold faith continue to inspire millions around the world.
