Life Consumed by Drug Addiction
In the heart of Kingston, Jamaica, a life once consumed by darkness found its way into the light. For years, Craig battled a severe addiction to drugs, a path that cost him not only his health but also the love and trust of his family. "My life was like walking in the pitch dark with no light at the end of the tunnel," he once shared, reflecting on his journey before encountering grace.
Crying Out to God
The turning point came when Craig recognized his need for change and cried out to God. He enrolled in Teen Challenge Jamaica, a faith-based rehabilitation program known for its commitment to restoring lives through Christ's love and guidance. "Then I knew it was time for a change. I cried out to God and he picked me up and put my feet upon a firm foundation," he recounted.
Real Encounter with Jesus
During his time at Teen Challenge, Craig experienced a profound encounter with Jesus. "It was like handcuffs were taken off of me. I had a real encounter with Jesus," he described, emphasizing the freedom he felt from the chains of addiction. His transformation was not just about breaking free from drugs; it was about healing relationships and finding a new purpose in life.
Through prayer and the support of his newfound Christian community, Craig witnessed firsthand the power of divine intervention. "Ps Brian specifically prayed that I would get the call for surgery within a week. Well, I got the call 3 days later," he marveled, illustrating the tangible impacts of faith and prayer.
Walking in Complete Freedom
Today, Craig walks confidently in the light, his life a testament to the redemptive power of Jesus. He has rebuilt his relationship with his family and now dedicates his time to helping others find the same freedom he has found. "Craig, when you got real with me, I got real with you," he often reflects, a reminder of the authenticity and grace that brought him back to life. His journey from addiction to freedom is a powerful reminder that with God, nothing is impossible.
