From Party Life to Navy SEAL
Chad Williams was once a young man adrift, more absorbed in surfing and partying than in his college studies. His life took a dramatic turn when he resolved to join the Navy SEALs after witnessing the brutal murder of his mentor, Scott Helvenston, in Fallujah, Iraq, on television. This tragic event ignited a fierce determination within him to prove himself as a Navy SEAL.
Empty Success and Dark Nights
Despite achieving this prestigious status, Chad found himself mired in emptiness. His nights were filled with drinking and chaos, leading to moments where he would awaken with blood on him, unaware of its origin. It was a life devoid of purpose.
Road to Damascus Conversion Experience
On March 14, 2007, everything changed. Attending a church service where Greg Laurie spoke, Chad experienced a profound personal transformation. Laurie's message about Naaman, a commander who suffered from leprosy, struck a chord with Chad, who saw his own life reflected in the story of sin and redemption. That day, Chad had what he describes as a 'Road to Damascus conversion experience,' accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior.
Navy SEAL Christian Testimony Ministry
After leaving the military on May 18, 2010, Chad devoted his life to evangelism, sharing his story of redemption across the country. He draws parallels between the sacrifices of soldiers and the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, emphasizing the freedom both offer. Chad often reflects with gratitude, saying, "I'll die before I quit," a testament to his unwavering faith and dedication to sharing the love of Christ.
