Everything the World Offers
Brian "Head" Welch was the lead guitarist of Korn, one of the biggest rock bands of the 1990s. He had everything the world offers - fame, money, success. And he was dying inside.
Methamphetamine addiction consumed him. Depression crushed him. As a single father, he watched his daughter Jennea growing up in the chaos of his addiction and despaired.
The Most Supernatural Thing
One night, strung out and desperate, Brian cried out to Jesus. "God, if you're real, take this from me." That night, something broke. He felt an overwhelming presence of love wash over him - the Holy Spirit touching him for the first time.
The next morning, Brian had no desire for drugs. None. The addiction that had enslaved him for years was simply gone. He called it "the most supernatural thing I've ever experienced."
Brian left Korn at the height of their success to follow Jesus. He was baptized in the Jordan River in Israel. The industry thought he was crazy. His former bandmates were confused.
A Witness in Korn
But Jesus was doing a deeper work. Brian had always struggled with mental health - anxiety, depression, the chaos in his mind. Through prayer, Christian community, and the Word of God, his mind was being renewed. "He whom the Son sets free is free indeed."
Brian eventually returned to Korn, this time as a witness. He wrote songs about Jesus. He shared his testimony with millions. His daughter Jennea, who was baptized alongside him, is now walking with the Lord.
Jesus didn't just save Brian from drugs. He restored his mind, redeemed his family, and turned his platform into a pulpit. The enemy meant it for destruction, but God meant it for good.
