Christian Persecution Testimony Bangladesh
In the heart of Bangladesh, where Islam is the predominant faith, a Christian minority perseveres. Among these are Nur Alam and Afzal Hosen, who converted from Islam to Christianity in 2021. Their commitment to sharing their new faith, by distributing Bibles and religious booklets, did not go unnoticed. In response, local Muslims kidnapped them, demanding they return to Islam. Nur was held for 30 hours without sustenance, yet he remained resolute, telling his captors, "At some point during the interrogation, they became hopeless, seeing my strong faith in Jesus." Afzal echoed this sentiment, stating, "You can kill me, but you cannot take my faith in the Lord Jesus away from me. I am ready for any situation. I know well what I am doing." Despite the threats and violence, both men were eventually released.
Marjina's Violent Attack and Hospitalization
Similarly, Marjina's journey to Christianity began with her son Monju's conversion. Initially devastated, Marjina eventually embraced Christianity herself, leading to her baptism. However, her decision was met with hostility. Local Muslim leaders violently attacked her, resulting in her hospitalization. Yet, Marjina and Monju stood firm in their faith despite the violence.
Rashida's Family Threatens Disownment
Rashida, another convert, faced familial strife after accepting Christianity. Her son Rustom threatened to disown her unless she returned to Islam, declaring, "How could you commit such a sin? If you do not return to Islam, I will disown you. I will never accept and respect you as my mother." Despite such challenges, Rashida, her daughter-in-law Fulmoti, and granddaughter Rupa found strength in their newfound faith.
Unwavering Faith During Persecution
These stories highlight the cost of following Christ in Bangladesh and the unwavering faith of those who choose to do so. The persecution they face is severe, yet their commitment to Jesus remains unshaken. They embody forgiveness and resilience, drawing strength from their relationship with God. Jesus is at the center of these transformations, providing the courage and hope needed to endure such trials. Their testimonies inspire others to pray for and support Christians facing persecution, trusting in God's protection and provision.
