Muslim Converts to Christianity Through Dreams
In Bali, Indonesia, the journey of faith can be fraught with challenges, especially for those converting from Islam or Hinduism to Christianity. Timothy, a former Muslim, faced a profound transformation in March 2023. Initially, he hated Christianity. However, his life took a turn when he experienced visions and dreams. In one significant dream, Jesus invited him, saying, "Come to me and you will be saved by grace." Despite his initial resistance, Timothy felt drawn to this message. Through a Christian friend, he found a welcoming community in an international church, leading to his baptism. Timothy shared, "I hated Christianity, and I swore to not convert into a Christian. Even though I got two times of visions. But my destiny tells a different story." His testimony highlights the power of Jesus to change hearts, even amidst resistance.
Choosing Faith Over Family
Ruth, another convert, was born into a Muslim family in Bali. She too experienced dreams that led her to question her faith. Her recurring dreams of walking up a hill with Jesus compelled her to secretly explore Christianity. In 2022, when her mother discovered her Bible, Ruth faced a critical decision. Rather than renounce her faith, she chose to leave her home, finding solace and support in her newfound community.
Christian Persecution in Indonesia
These stories are not isolated. Converts in Bali often encounter hostility and even risk losing their land rights and inheritance due to their faith decisions. Yet, the peace and assurance they find in Jesus provide strength to persevere. Caleb, once a devout Muslim, expressed that in 20 years of practicing Islam, he never felt peace. Upon embracing Christianity, he finally experienced the peace he long sought.
Faith Transcends Cultural Barriers
Through dreams, visions, and the influence of Christian friends, individuals like Timothy and Ruth have found a relationship with Jesus that transcends cultural and familial barriers, demonstrating the transformative power of faith.
