A Life in the Cartel
In the turbulent streets of Medellín, Colombia, during the late 1970s and 1980s, the Medellin Cartel rose to infamy. Amongst its ranks was Ricardo Rodriguez, a man deeply involved in the drug trade's dark world. Under the shadow of notorious figures like Pablo Escobar and Gonzalo Rodríguez Gacha, Ricardo lived a life of danger, surrounded by crime and corruption.
Yearning for Change
Yet, in 1990, a remarkable transformation began. Ricardo and his wife, Ma. Patricia Rodriguez, experienced a profound change in their lives. They found themselves yearning for something more than the chaos and violence that had become their norm. It was during this time that they turned their hearts fully to God, seeking redemption and a new path.
Birth of a Church
On October 24, 1990, in an unassuming apartment, Ricardo and Ma. Patricia held their first service, marking the birth of the Restoration Community Church. This small gathering was the beginning of a spiritual journey that would not only change their lives but also impact countless others. The couple dedicated themselves to building a community centered around faith and hope.
A Flourishing Ministry
By February 28, 1993, the church experienced a significant moment when God's Spirit moved powerfully among them, igniting a passion and commitment to their mission. From a life once marked by illegal activities and danger, Ricardo emerged as a leader, guiding others on their own paths to redemption.
Today, Ricardo and Ma. Patricia Rodriguez are pastors of one of South America's fastest-growing churches. Their story is a testament to the transformative power of Jesus, who brought them out of darkness into a life of service and faith. They credit Jesus with the change in their lives, giving Him all the glory for their salvation and the flourishing of their ministry.
