The Breaking Point
I was one half of a group called Lotto Boyzz. We had sold out shows and our music was played everywhere. Outwardly, things looked like they were going great. But I was empty. I was struggling with anxiety and suicidal thoughts.
I was about to end my life when my phone rang in my pocket. I've never felt a vibration go through my system like that. It was like my heart stopped. I picked up the phone in panic. It was my mum.
The Phone Call That Saved Me
My mum said: "My spirit is not resting. Where are you?"
I tried to deflect, but she was unusually stern. She said: "Imrhan... God is letting me know you're not OK. Come home."
I knew instantly that wasn't just my mum speaking. I ran home because of the way she spoke to me. When I got back to the house, I realised my mum had no idea what I had been about to do. She phoned at exactly the right moment.
For the first time, I realised: "God, that means you're real."
A New Beginning
The group breaking down affected me deeply. But learning to overcome my suicidal thoughts and seeing how my life has turned around since giving it all back to God has been incredible.
In 2022, I experienced a profound transformation, choosing to answer my heavenly calling and dedicating my entire life to Jesus Christ. I embraced my original name, Imrhan, which means "Exalted Nation, Prosperity, and Happiness," and embarked on a new journey.
I'm currently training to be a leader and minister of the Gospel at ITCC Bible School. My mission is to be a living testimony of Jesus Christ on Earth.
Music for God
I created a little mini studio at my nan's house and made "Nice with Christ." I heard the song in my spirit, went to sleep and woke up around 3am and started recording. It took about three weeks to finish.
My music used to be about the party lifestyle. Now I use my gifts to point people to Jesus. Everything I went through—the fame, the anxiety, the darkness—it was all part of God's plan to bring me to him.
