A Chaotic Beginning
I was raised in a chaotic household where my father was an abusive alcoholic. I grew up with anger and hopelessness—emotions that felt like they would swallow me whole.
Looking for acceptance, for belonging, for somewhere to put all that rage, I found solace on the streets. I joined a gang. We dealt drugs, committed robberies, assaults. Violence became my language.
Surrounded by Death
Then I went to prison. When I got out, I thought I could pick up where I left off.
But death was everywhere.
A friend died in my arms during a robbery. Within that same week, some friends either died from gun violence or took their own lives. I felt surrounded and pursued by death itself.
I realized: I was next. The streets I had given my life to were ready to take it.
Meeting Jesus
In my darkest moment, when death felt like it was hunting me down, Jesus found me.
I can't explain it any other way. The God I had ignored, the Savior I had never considered—He reached into my chaos and pulled me out.
For the first time in my life, I felt peace. Real peace. The anger that had defined me started to melt. The hopelessness transformed into purpose.
From Inmate to Minister
Since then, I've continued to nurture my relationship with Jesus every single day. He didn't just save me from death—He gave me a reason to live.
Now I share my testimony in prisons. I minister to inmates—men who are where I used to be, trapped in cycles of violence and hopelessness.
I know their pain. I know their anger. And I know the One who can set them free.
Jesus changed my life. He took a gang member destined for an early grave and turned me into someone who helps others find the same freedom. That's the power of the Gospel.
