Edmonton homeless man finds Jesus testimony after reading a Bill Johnson book. God provided job after salvation in St. Paul, Canada.

A Book That Sparked Hope

In Canada, a man, after reading a Bill Johnson's book, decides to travel to a different town and is lead to a chuch where he gives his life to Jesus and receives a second chance in life.

This testimony was shared by a pastor from Alberta, Canada, who was visiting Bethel recently. His church, though not connected to Bethel Redding, is also called Bethel (Bethel Family Worship Center).

A man who was living in Edmonton had been struggling with lots of inner torment and thoughts. Then he read the book by Bill Johnson, The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind; it made an immediate impact on him, and he felt hope. Jobless, homeless, and penniless, he decided to go to Saskatoon to find work.

Seven Days on the River

He had the idea that since he had no way of getting there, he would float down the North Saskatchewan River on a blow-up raft from Walmart. He started his journey to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, camping out at night in a tent, scared, because coyotes would surround his tent. But he had bought a Bible, and it was giving him peace as he was reading it. After seven days, he had to come to shore because the raft was losing air. This happened to be by a highway, and someone from the Bethel Family Worship Center picked him up and brought him to St. Paul.

An Encounter at Bethel

He camped somewhere and walked four kilometers to their church. As he walked into the church, he started telling the story about reading Bill Johnson's book and noticed this church was also called Bethel. As soon as he entered the sanctuary, he encountered the presence of God and wept through the entire service. He recommitted his life to Christ at the altar.

A New Beginning

Some people in the church after that asked him if he wanted a ride back to Edmonton. As they started driving him back to Edmonton, the couple driving him both heard the Lord say at the same time, "Take him back to St. Paul and let him stay at your home." They brought him back, and the next day, he got a roofing job as a foreman making over $30 an hour. The next week he came forward again to the altar, and all his former feelings of unworthiness lifted off!
