Facing Overwhelming Need in Uganda
In 2007, when I first arrived in Uganda, I was just 18 years old, filled with a heart ready to serve but unaware of the challenges that lay ahead. I founded Amazima Ministries to help the orphans in Jinja, a beautiful but impoverished town. One day, I faced an overwhelming need: we had no food for the 400 children under our care. The situation seemed dire, and doubt crept in as I wondered how I could possibly provide for these children with the resources I had.
Prayer Answered Immediately
I remember sitting on the dusty floor of our small office, praying with all my heart for God to intervene. I asked Jesus for a miracle, trusting that He could do what seemed impossible. Just as I finished praying, I received a call from an unexpected source—a local businessman who had heard about our work. He offered to provide enough food to feed all the children for the next month.
God Provided Food Miraculously
This wasn't just a coincidence or a lucky break; it was Jesus clearly at work. The businessman had felt an unexplainable urge to help, and because of his generosity, our ministry was able to not only feed the children but also share the story of Jesus' provision with them. Through this miracle, I witnessed firsthand that when we are at our lowest, Jesus is at His strongest, ready to meet our needs in ways we could never imagine.
