A Father's Healing
Born in 1958 in Nanyang, Henan, China, Brother Yun grew up in a family plagued by poverty. His life took a transformative turn at the age of 16 when his father, on the brink of death, was miraculously healed after Yun prayed, 'Jesus, I need my father. I don't know who You are, but I know I need my father.' This healing ignited Yun's faith, leading him to fervently seek after God. Desperate for a Bible, Yun prayed and fasted for months, experiencing a vision that foretold the delivery of a Bible to him. Remarkably, his vision was fulfilled when two men brought him a Bible, cementing his belief in God's provision.
Called to Preach
Called to ministry, Yun traveled to preach the Gospel across China. However, his ministry was not without hardship. Arrested multiple times for his faith, Yun endured severe torture and imprisonment, yet remained undeterred. During his first imprisonment, he fasted for 74 days, a testament to his unwavering faith in Jesus.
Walking Through Prison Walls
In a maximum-security prison during his third incarceration, Yun experienced a divine escape on May 5, 1997. Following God's instruction, he walked past numerous guards and through prison doors that seemed to open on their own. His legs, previously injured by beatings, were healed as he walked out, illustrating Jesus's miraculous intervention. Yun described this experience saying, 'I was with Jesus and I experienced his very real presence, joy, and peace every day.'
A Global Mission
After escaping, Yun sought asylum in Germany and became a leader in the Back to Jerusalem Movement, spreading the Gospel globally. His story is a powerful testimony of Jesus's transformative power and faithfulness amidst persecution.
