From Privilege to Persecution
Nora Lam, born in 1932 in Peking, China, lived a life marked by privilege and adversity. Abandoned at birth, she was adopted by a wealthy couple in Shanghai and grew up in comfort. She first encountered Christianity at McTyeire Home and School for Girls, and a vision of a guardian angel left a lasting impression.
Facing the Firing Squad
However, the realities of war and political upheaval soon tested her faith. During the Communist takeover, Nora faced intense persecution due to her family's wealth and Western ties. Despite the pressure, she boldly affirmed her faith, declaring, 'Yes, I am a Christian!' This declaration led to her imprisonment and a death sentence by firing squad.
Divine Intervention
Yet, as she later testified, Jesus intervened miraculously. The soldiers, stunned by a blinding light, were unable to carry out the execution. Nora's story became a powerful testimony of God's supernatural protection.
