Combat Trauma and PTSD Struggles
In 1967, William, a combat infantryman in the Vietnam War, was wounded and faced a battle that continued long after the gunfire ceased. Diagnosed with PTSD in 1981, his life spiraled into isolation, paranoia, and alcoholism. Haunted by nightmares, flashbacks, and a consuming guilt, William believed that God could not love him for what he had done.
God's Love in Deepest Despair
By 1991, the weight of his torment became unbearable, and a suicide attempt marked a desperate cry for relief. Yet, it was precisely in this moment of profound despair that William encountered the transformative love of God. He came to understand that God's forgiveness was available even for him, and with this revelation, his journey of healing began.
Divine Healing from PTSD
William experienced an overwhelming sense of peace and joy, realizing he was forgiven. This newfound freedom led him to quit smoking and abusing alcohol, and he was able to overcome his dependency on drugs and medication. Embracing this second chance, William felt a calling to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, testifying about the divine intervention that saved his life. He began sharing his story at churches and conferences, encouraging others with the message that God loves them too.
Life Transformed by Jesus
Although his trauma had deep roots, William's life was radically transformed by Jesus, who provided healing and restoration in a way nothing else could. Today, he continues to share his testimony, giving glory to Jesus for the joy and warmth that replaced his pain and isolation.
