Volodymyr Fomin from Ukraine came to know Christ during the Covid-19 pandemic. At that time, he was deeply involved in New Age ideology and struggling with depression. He did not have any religious background growing up.
Covid Pandemic Creates Spiritual Crisis
The pandemic created a unique moment of reflection for Volodymyr. Like many young Europeans, the isolation and uncertainty of lockdowns forced him to confront deeper questions about meaning and purpose. The New Age practices that had promised fulfillment were not delivering what he needed.
From New Age to Christianity
His encounter with Christianity came during this period of searching. Unlike some converts who had traumatic experiences, Volodymyr's journey was one of gradually recognizing the emptiness of his previous spiritual path and the truth of the Gospel.
Gen Z Conversion Leads to Ministry
Today, Volodymyr is actively involved in Christian student mission work in Kyiv, Ukraine. His transformation from a depressed New Age seeker to a joyful missionary represents the kind of dramatic life change that is becoming increasingly common among European Gen Z.
His story is featured in the CNE (Christian Network Europe) podcast on the "Quiet Revival" happening among young Europeans - a movement that Andreas Nordli, leader of Youth with a Mission Norway, says has produced more converts in three years than the previous 27 years combined.
