Lawyer Called to Ministry
Bob Goff, once a successful lawyer in San Francisco, realized his life needed a new direction. He felt a deep calling to make a difference beyond the courtroom. In 2003, while visiting Uganda during its civil war, Bob saw children suffering without education or protection. This encounter sparked a transformation in his heart. Inspired by faith and love, Bob founded Restore International, now Love Does, to fight injustices against children in conflict zones.
Fighting Child Trafficking in Uganda
During one visit to Uganda, Bob learned about the horrific practice of witch doctors abducting children for ritual purposes. Determined to bring justice, Bob worked on a landmark case where a witch doctor named Kabi abducted an 8-year-old boy, Charlie. Through Bob's efforts, Kabi was sentenced to 50 years in prison, marking the first time a witch doctor faced justice in Uganda. Yet, Bob didn't stop at justice. He visited Kabi in prison, offering forgiveness and starting a school to educate witch doctors using the Bible.
Love Does Ministry Expands
Bob's love and faith fueled his actions, showing that love is not passive but active and transformative. He once shared, "Simply put: love does!" Through Love Does, he has expanded his ministry, establishing schools and safe houses for children in various countries. His story demonstrates that Jesus can use anyone willing to act with love and courage to change the world.
Life Transformed Through Faith
Bob's journey from a lawyer to a beacon of hope in Uganda illustrates how faith can turn personal transformation into global impact. His life reminds us that true success lies in faith expressed through love, a message he passionately embodies.
