A Tunisian convert, who remains anonymous for safety reasons, found a new life in Christ after leaving their homeland. Raised in a devout Muslim family, they began to question Islamic law while living in Saudi Arabia. Their journey continued to France, where the unexpected encounter with a Catholic family introduced them to Christian teachings and the Holy Scriptures. In 2002, this path led to their baptism.
Reflecting on this transformative time, the convert shares, "Since then, Christ has become my whole life... I give my testimony at every opportunity." Their journey is not without challenges. In a land where Christian converts face significant persecution, their story is a testament to resilience and faith. "We must proclaim that our hope has a name, it's 'Jesus Christ,' the only savior of the world," they assert, recognizing the profound impact of their faith.
In another instance, 'Steve,' a fellow Tunisian convert, faced death threats from extremists. Yet, his unwavering faith shone through. "They said to me: 'Do you know that it is not forbidden to kill you?' But I didn't really feel afraid. I could answer them: 'Yes I know you can do that [you can kill me]'. They responded that I was crazy saying that. I said to them: 'Yes, I am crazy for Jesus,'" he recounted.
Malik Hassan's experience further highlights the divine encounters found in adversity. After waking from a coma in a Cairo hospital, he cried out to Jesus, seeking forgiveness and mercy. This life-altering moment led to a deep internal peace and a renewed relationship with God.
