Jennie Allen, a renowned Bible teacher and author, has inspired countless women through her journey of overcoming anxiety and embracing obedience to God. Raised in a Christian home, Jennie didn't fully recognize her need for God until high school. Despite this background, she struggled with anxiety, describing it as a 'constant anxiety of approval' and a fear that paralyzed her.
God's Call to Ministry
Around 2007, Jennie experienced a pivotal moment when she heard what she believed to be God's voice telling her, 'Gather and equip your generation.' At the time, she was a stay-at-home mom, feeling inadequate and terrified of stepping into ministry. Yet, she chose to obey God, saying, 'I'm not going to let my fear of man stop me from obeying God.' This obedience led to the creation of the IF:Gathering, a movement that has reached over a million women globally since its inception in 2014.
Overcoming Anxiety Through Faith
Jennie discovered that her fears, though daunting, were an opportunity to rely on God. She learned to combat anxiety with Scripture and emphasized the importance of community and gratitude. Her teachings encourage others to name their anxieties, share struggles with friends, and seek help. Through her books like 'Restless,' Jennie illustrates that our gifts and passions are deliberate, urging us to live with purpose.
Living Free from Fear
Today, Jennie's impact is vast. The IF:Gathering has not only empowered women to live out their faith but has also fostered a global community. Jennie continues to pursue God passionately, acknowledging ongoing fears yet trusting in God's strength. Her story is an encouragement to those wrestling with similar challenges, demonstrating that through Jesus, we can find freedom from fear and live a life of purpose.
