An Abandoned Child
In the serene landscapes of Bhutan, where Buddhism is the spiritual heritage, Christian believers often face intense challenges. Suman Ramtel, a young man from Bhutan, is no stranger to such trials. Raised by his grandparents after being abandoned by his parents, Suman struggled with feelings of neglect and turned to drugs to mask his pain. Despite being baptized in 2019, his battle with addiction continued.
A Vision of Hell
One night, after taking an excessive dose of drugs, Suman had a terrifying dream. In it, demons were dragging him towards hell, a place of unimaginable torment. Desperate and afraid, he cried out to Jesus. Instantly, the terrifying vision faded, and he found peace. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a profound transformation in Suman's life.
Cravings Vanish
From that day forward, Suman replaced his reliance on drugs with prayer and faith in Jesus. His cravings vanished, and he experienced a newfound joy and purpose. Today, Suman leads the youth in his local church, encouraging them to find hope and strength in their faith. He shares, "Despite the persecution, I have joy in my heart. I have experienced God's blessings and His presence in my life."
A Beacon of Hope
Suman's story is a testament to Jesus' power to transform lives, even in the face of adversity. In a country where converting to Christianity can lead to societal and familial pressure, Suman's faith stands as a beacon of hope. His journey reminds us that with Jesus, there is always a path to freedom and healing.
