No. Engage is not medical advice, mental health services, legal advice, financial advice, or pastoral counselling. It's a tool for spiritual reflection that draws from Scripture, testimonies, and your own vault. If you're in crisis, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline. Doxa will always point you toward real people and real help.

Voice Engage streams audio in real time to OpenAI for the session. Doxa does not store your voice audio from Engage sessions. OpenAI processes it in real time and does not retain it for training. Your voice recordings in the Encouragement Vault are different: those are transcribed by AssemblyAI, and the audio is stored securely so you can play them back anytime.

When you use Engage, we send your session messages plus limited context (like a few relevant vault entries or Grace Record excerpts) to OpenAI to generate responses. We don't send your entire vault. For transcription, AssemblyAI receives only the audio file. Both providers process data under strict contracts. We list every sub-processor and exactly what data they receive in our privacy policy.

Yes, and we'll be straight with you about how it works. Your data is encrypted with TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest. We use AI to power Engage, but we don't store your sessions for training, we don't read your vault, and we don't sell your data. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. You're recording personal spiritual moments. We built the entire app knowing that demands real trust.

No. Your vault contents, your Engage sessions, your recordings are not used to train any AI model. Not ours, not anyone else's. Our contracts with OpenAI and AssemblyAI explicitly prohibit using your data for model training. This is a line we don't cross.

Only you, unless you choose otherwise. Every record is private by default. You decide what to share, who to share it with, and whether to post it to a group. You can unshare anything at any time. Your vault is yours.

Your data is yours. We're building Doxa to last, but if the worst happened, you'd be able to export everything. Recordings, transcriptions, vault entries. We will never hold your spiritual history hostage.

Yes. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. Under GDPR and UK GDPR, you have the right to erasure. We also support data portability, so you can export your records before deleting. Just email hello@doxa.app or use the in-app settings.

On encrypted servers managed by Supabase (our database provider) and secured cloud storage. Encryption is TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest, with row-level security on every database query. We use nine sub-processors total, all listed in our privacy policy. We don't run our own data centres because frankly, the professionals do it better and more securely.

Minimal. We use essential cookies for authentication and basic site functionality. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no ad networks. We honour Do Not Track signals. Anytime. No lock-in, no cancellation fees, no guilt trip. Subscriptions auto-renew but you can cancel before the next billing cycle. Upgrade when you want more, downgrade when you don't. Your recordings and your vault stay exactly as they are regardless.

Nothing. They're yours. Everything in Your Encouragement Vault stays permanently. Downgrading only changes how many new Engage sessions you get each month. You never lose what you've already created.

Subscriptions purchased through the App Store are managed by Apple and follow their refund policies. For subscriptions purchased through our website via Stripe, contact us at hello@doxa.app and we'll sort it out. We don't do guilt trips on the way out either.

Doxa includes the complete Bible with a reading experience we think you'll love. But it's more than a Bible app. Scripture in Doxa is connected to your Encouragement Vault records, to Grace Record testimonies, and to Engage sessions. It's the Bible, alive and in context.

Doxa is designed for ages 13 and up. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. It works well for youth groups, college ministries, and mentorship. Built for believers who want depth without religious jargon. No cringe. Just a real tool for real faith.

Engage draws from multiple translations including NASB (The Lockman Foundation), The Passion Translation (Passion & Fire Ministries), Berean Standard Bible, and World English Bible. Scripture quotations are used under licence or from public domain sources and attributed accordingly.
