Why the Bible is inside Doxa

Open the Scriptures,
and test every prophecy by them.

Prophecy is one way God encourages us. Scripture is how we test it and hold fast to what is good. So the Bible in Doxa sits beside everything you record: you weigh a prophecy against the verses it stands on, hold it, and come back to both for decades.

“Do not extinguish the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt, but test all things. Hold fast to what is good.”
1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 (BSB)

Weigh it against Scripture

Bring every prophecy
to the Scriptures.

Tap any verse in the app and choose Add to the weighing of a prophecy, or Record what God said to keep something new with the verse attached. Every prophecy, testimony and note you link to a verse shows as a mark on it, so what God said to you and the Scripture you weighed it by stay together for decades.

“examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true.”
Acts 17:11 (BSB)
  • Choose Engage on a verse, or select several, and ask what it means for the prophecy in front of you. Doxa Engage retrieves Scripture and never generates it.
  • Tap Note on a verse to write a Daily Faith Steps note with the verse attached.

Stories and studies on the verse

Meet the people who stood
on this verse before you.

A Grace Record mark under a verse opens the true story of someone who held on to it. A study mark opens the Daily Lift studies that go deeper on that verse, and each answer opens right there, with a link to the whole study.

  • In the app, turn on Show study marks in Reading settings.
  • Go deeper in this chapter lists the studies on the chapter you are reading.

Questions about the Bible in Doxa.

Which Bible translations does Doxa have?

The Berean Standard Bible (BSB) and the World English Bible (WEB), in the app and in your browser. In the app you can also choose other English versions from YouVersion, and the BSB keeps its translators' own section headings.

How do I link a prophecy to a verse?

In the app, tap the verse and choose Add to the weighing of a prophecy, then pick the prophecy. To record something new with the verse already attached, choose Record what God said. The verse then carries a mark, and every prophecy, testimony and note you linked to it opens from that mark, in the app and in the Bible on doxa.app.

Can I listen to the Bible in Doxa?

Yes, in the app. Open Reading settings and tap Listen to hear the BSB narrated by Bob Souer. The verse being read is highlighted as you listen, the audio keeps playing in the background, and you can change the speed.

Can I study the original Hebrew and Greek?

Yes. In the app, tap a verse and choose Word study to see its Hebrew or Greek words. Each word opens its Strong's entry: the original word, how to say it, what it means, and where else Scripture uses it.

Can I read offline?

Yes, in the app. Download the BSB from Reading settings and the whole Bible stays on your phone.

Can I read the Bible in my browser?

Yes. The Bible on doxa.app has every chapter in the BSB and the WEB, with cross references, the people and places in each passage, and the Grace Record stories that stand on a verse. Sign in at doxa.app and your highlights, bookmarks and the prophecies you linked to a verse are there as well.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
