What does the Bible say about doubt?

Scripture treats doubt as something to bring directly to God rather than something to hide. A father cried out to Jesus that he believed and needed help with his unbelief, in the same breath, and Jesus healed his son anyway. Thomas doubted the resurrection until he examined Jesus' own wounds, and Jesus met him there rather than turning him away. I do believe; help my unbelief
