Through Prayer Testimonies

616 stories of God's work from believers across 425 locations.

Someone prayed: personal or intercessory.

Doxa is where Christians record what God has said and done, and return to remember it.

These are accounts where prayer is the thread: prayers answered quickly, prayers answered after decades, and prayers answered in a form the person praying had not asked for. It is the largest thread running through the archive.

Because it is the largest, it is also the most varied, and the variation is the useful part. Alongside the dramatic answers there are accounts of people who prayed the same thing for thirty years, accounts where the answer arrived through an ordinary person who had no idea they were part of it, and accounts where what changed was the person praying.

A detail that recurs: a large share of these accounts involve someone praying for a person who did not know they were being prayed for, often for years. Parents, grandparents, and in several cases a single friend who kept going long after everyone else had stopped.

Accounts where the answer was no, or not yet, are kept here too. They are part of an honest record of what praying is actually like.

Does God still answer prayer today?

These accounts are a record of people reporting that He does, and they are specific enough to be examined rather than simply believed: dates, places, names and sources. They also record long waits and unanswered requests without smoothing them over. Taken together they describe something closer to a relationship than a mechanism: requests are heard, answered in ways the person did not always choose, and sometimes answered many years later.
